Meet Your Trainer: Tim Carrigan on Fitness, Coaching, and Why Personalized Training Matters
If you have been thinking about working with a personal trainer but are not sure what to expect, this post is for you. I want to share a bit about who I am, how I coach, and why I believe personalized training is the best investment you can make in your health.
From Collegiate Athlete to Certified Trainer
My fitness journey started on the field as a collegiate athlete. That experience taught me what structured training, proper recovery, and mental toughness look like in practice — not just in theory. After retiring from competitive athletics, I earned four ISSA certifications in personal training, running coaching, strength and conditioning, and nutrition coaching. I wanted to bring that same level of structure and intentionality to everyday people.
Why Personalized Training Works
The fitness industry is full of generic programs and one-size-fits-all solutions. The problem is that no two people have the same body, the same goals, or the same starting point. What works for a 25-year-old training for a marathon is completely different from what a 50-year-old recovering from a knee injury needs. That is why every program I write starts with a thorough assessment and an honest conversation about where you are and where you want to go.
What Training With Me Looks Like
When you work with me, you get my full attention during every session. I coach you through each exercise, monitor your form, and adjust the plan based on how you respond. Between sessions, I track your progress and make sure your program evolves as you do. My clients in Allentown, Brodheadsville, and Dupont all receive this same level of care.
The Services I Offer
I offer personal training for general fitness and body composition goals, running coaching for beginners to experienced racers, strength and conditioning for athletes, and nutrition coaching to tie it all together. Many clients combine two or more services for a comprehensive approach.
If you are in the Allentown area and ready to take your fitness seriously, I would love to hear from you. Reach out through the contact page and let us set up your first session. No pressure, no gimmicks — just honest coaching that gets results.
